Russell Gortzig, a 13 year old teenager from Deltona, FL, set himself on fire today trying to imitate a video he saw on Youtube. The video features a man dressed in a banana suit that lights himself up. The teenager suffered multiple burns and was rushed to the hospital after the incident. It appears he wasn't alone in the reenactment as his friend helped siphon gasoline from a lawnmower and then poured it on Gortzig. The son's mother says that Youtube is partially to blame for the burns.

First of all, Youtube is not partially to blame for her son trying to be a giant match, she is. Either pay more attention to what your son is browsing on the Internet, or teach him that gasoline and fire may lead to a bath in ice. Second of all, teenagers do stupid things. This time it may be a little over the top as the kid should have realized that being a flaming banana is not something you should strive to achieve.
