Stewart Rips into the Media for Their Reporting on Supreme Court Nominee Elena Kagan

The media looks for any stupid bullshit to latch onto when reporting on political events. Jon Stewart makes a living poetically pointing out how ridiculous many of these pundits get when discussing an issue. Obama appointing Elena Kagan as a Supreme Court nominee is no different and the Daily Show is there to give it's view on the coverage.

From the first set of clips, Stewart makes this conclusion based on the reporting:

"[Kagan] is a short, chimney-smokin', beer-guzzlin' poker player. I'm sorry, she's not Darkman, she's Danny DeVito."

The true beauty of this clip occurs when Stewart attacks the media for comparing everything that Obama does to something that occurred during the George W. Bush administration, and this situation was absolutely no different. Conservative pundits were able to compare Kagan to Harriet Miers, who was quickly withdrawn after being nominated to the Supreme Court by Bush. This was Stewart's take on the comparison:

"It's crazy. It's like no matter what happens during the Obama administration there's the perfect Bush fuck up for the occasion."
