Obama: Terrorist Attack on Northwest Flight 253 to Detroit Was Due to a Systemic Failure

Obama spoke today from Honolulu regarding the terrorist attack that occurred on Northwest flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. The father of the suspect actually warned the United States embassy in Nigeria about his son before the attack, yet the individual was not placed on the "no fly list". This led to a potential disaster that luckily never came to fruition. Obama gave his thoughts on this subject:

"When our government has information has information on a known extremist, and that information is not shared and acted upon as it should have been, so that this extremist boards a plane with dangerous explosives that could have costs nearly 300 lives, a systemic failure has occurred, and I consider that totally unacceptable."

Obama spoke straight to the issue at hand as to why this individual somehow made it through security and had chance at blowing up 300 innocent people. This alleged terrorist should have been flagged, caught and brought straight to jail, yet that didn't happen. I know the Right-Wing will somehow find a way to say that Obama was too soft or too slow in responding, but he stated exactly what needed to be said.
