With the Michael Jackson memorial occuring today during actual business hours I am wondering how bad it will effect the Internet. Most people in the US won't be able to watch the event on TV, therefore the only source with be the Web. I guess it will be similar to what occurred with the Obama Inauguration, but I assume there will be a much bigger online audience this time around.
I know that when Jackson died, he brought down many of the largest sites to a crawl or even completely down. Websites such as Google, Twitter, TMZ and Wikipedia all felt the wrath. I am assuming that many of these organizations are prepared for the traffic that will be coming their way today, but it will still be very interesting to see.
