Effective immediately, the Marines have banned Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites. Here is a quote from the official order:

"These internet sites in general are a proven haven for malicious actors and content and are particularly high risk due to information exposure, user generated content and targeting by adversaries."

There are so many crazy countries that waste their time banning sites and trying to filter the Internet and American's consistently criticize them. Now we are doing the exact same shit. The ban will last a year and may also impact other "Web 2.0" sites. Not only is this just over the top regarding "security", butthese tools are very useful for communication between Government and the people.

You would think with all the technology and intelligence we have as a nation that we can't find a way to block some malware from infecting a goverment PC. The only thing we can do to possibly keep our nation safeis to ban Tweets. Way to limit the Marines communication and move America forward!
