Dylan Ratigan Jumps All Over Rep. Wasserman Schultz Regarding a Health Care Mandate with No New Options

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was interviewed by Dylan Ratigan today regarding health care reform. Ratigan brought forward an issue related to the stock prices of major health care providers stating they are rising due to the fact it is a monopoly industry. To add to the problem, there is now a bill being put forward that mandates the creation of new customers but does not add any new options for the people to choose from. Ratigan brought this question forward to the Congresswoman:

"It basically allows the taxpayer to take the hit to pay for the uninsured but does not deal with the underlying symptom as to why there are so many uninsured, which is we have a unreformed private insurance monopoly in this country that is now being guaranteed more customers by the government. Why is that a good thing for America?"

When Wasserman Schultz only brought Democratic talking points forward as opposed to answering Ratigan's question things began to get heated. After battling back and forth, it finally ended with Ratigan simply stating that "this is a waste of time".

I think the main point here is that health insurance reform should benefit the American people and not the CEOs of these major health companies. Somehow this Congresswoman fails to see this point or at least acts as if that is not what is happening.
