Bernie Sanders Slams the Republican Party on the Senate Floor for Trying to Delay Health Care Reform

Bernie Sanders was on the Senate floor today proposing an amendment to the health care reform bill. When his request to bypass the reading of the full 700 page bill was denied things got very heated and he lashed out at the stalling Republicans.

"Everybody in this country understands that our nation faces a significant number of major crises. Whether it's the disintegration of our healthcare system, the fact that 17 percent of our people are unemployed, or under-employed. One out of four of our children are living in food stamps, we've got two wars, we've got global warming, we have a $12 trillion national debt, and the best the Republicans can do is to try and bring the United States government to a halt by forcing a reading of a 700 page amendment."

Sen. Sanders then appeared on Fox News and explained that as of right now he is not voting for the healthcare bill. He explained that without a public option there is no possible way to keep private insurance companies in check to ensure that costs don't sky rocket.

I don't know what is more sad right now in America. The fact that the GOP is so content with leaving millions of Americans uninsured, or the simple point that the Democrats, who have complete control over the Government, don't have enough balls to power through the promise agenda.
