Well, the Republicans have been very confused by President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize today. The obvious "patriotic" reaction would have something to do with being proud, but that is not the case with the head of the RNC. Michael Steele released a statement today that was not very positive toward Obama winning the award:
“The real question Americans are asking is what has President Obama actually accomplished? It is unfortunate that the President’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights."
Barbara Boxer stated her thoughts today on MSNBC towards Steele and his statement. She said that the RNC chairman's reaction was very similar in harshness to that of the Taliban. The Senator's last statement I felt was very accurate however. It seems like nothing that is done in this nation anymore can be positive under the Obama administration.
As long as Obama is the President the Conservatives will never be happy. The United States could find a cure for cancer or gold at the end of the rainbow and it won't matter. It will be the same old case of "let the spinning of the issue begin!".
